The South Bucks Hospice (SBH) supports cancer patients and patients with non-curative illnesses, their families and carers in what can be a very distressing time for many people.
Visually, the old SBH website was very dated, with poor content promotion and structure. There was also poor consistency from page to page. The web masters found it difficult to add new content, and visitors found it difficult to navigate.
SBH wanted to manage every aspect of their site easily, including news updates and bookings for upcoming events. They also wanted a forum to offer nursing advice and support.
Artlines designed a fresh and modern interface, using existing branding and colours to highlight buttons and call-to-action links.
The website is entirely controlled by the next iteration of our CMS platform, Arena. It allows SBH to edit specific areas of content without affecting the surrounding HTML mark-up. The events booking system was built as a plugin and seamlessly integrates into Arena, with capacity limits, automatic postcode-to-map geo-coding and Secure Trading as the payment service provider. For the support forum, we customised and themed Vanilla Forum.
